Measures to prevent moisture from packing rooms

2025-6-13

1. Structural moisture-proof measures
1. Foundation treatment
- Lift the foundation (above 30cm) to avoid ground water vapor penetration.
- Paint gravel layers or concrete cushions to enhance drainage capacity.
- Dig drains around the perimeter to prevent water from seeping into the bottom.
2. Box seal
- Fill with waterproof glue (silicon sealant) in welding seams and joints, and check the aging situation regularly.
- Apply waterproof adhesive strips for doors and windows, and set up an inclined awning or awning on the top to prevent rainwater from pouring back.
3. Moisture protection at the bottom
- Paint moisture-proof mats (such as XPS extruded panels) or apply asphalt waterproof layer on the ground.
- A vent is reserved at the bottom of the box (install an insect-proof net) to avoid moisture accumulation.

2. Material moisture-proof selection
1. Box protection
- Spray the external anti-rust paint + waterproof coating (such as polyurethane coating) to prevent water vapor corrosion.
- Use moisture-proof gypsum board, calcium silicate board or PVC board on the interior wall to avoid moisture absorption.
2. Decoration materials
-Preferred tiles, anticorrosion wood or moisture-proof flooring on the floor to avoid ordinary wood materials.
- Choose metal, plastic or moisture-proof boards for furniture to reduce the risk of mold.

3. Ventilation and dehumidification
1. Natural ventilation
- Design convection doors and windows, install blinds or vents to promote air circulation.
- Open windows regularly during the rainy season to avoid moisture retention.
2. Mechanical ventilation
- Install exhaust fans, fresh air system or roof ventilators to force exhaust moisture.
- Dehumidifiers are installed in humid areas (8 hours a day) and the humidity is controlled below 60%.
- The air conditioner turns on the dehumidification mode to help reduce indoor humidity.

4. Daily maintenance and management
1. Regular inspection
- Check the sealing of box joints, roofs, doors and windows every month, and repair the damage in a timely manner.
- Pay attention to hidden areas such as corners of walls and cabinet bottoms, and deal with mold spots immediately if you find them.
2. Environmental Management
- Place moisture absorbent boxes and activated carbon bags (especially in the corners and under the bed) indoors.
- Avoid indoor clothes drying and reduce moisture evaporation.
-Prune the surrounding vegetation regularly to prevent shading, ventilation or water accumulation.
3. Emergency treatment
- Wipe the water stains on the ground in time after a sudden heavy rain and check the leaks.
- When severely humid, use lime powder or desiccant to absorb moisture.

5. Special scenario enhancement plan
- High humidity areas (such as coastal and southern): The box is wrapped in waterproof coils and an electroosmosis moisture-proof system is installed.
- Long-term vacant room: dehumidify before power outage, seal the drain, and place a large amount of desiccant.
- Storage purpose: The shelves are 20cm above the ground, the goods are wrapped in moisture-proof film, equipped with temperature and humidity sensor.
